    Book had 2 pages missing!
The Book I have received has 2 pages missing (shown in the amazon images as the lift the flap frog spawn), don’t know if this was just my copy, a ‘faulty’ batch, or if they have now been illiminated these page from the book to cut costs. Have returned for a refund.

  5. Eric Baker

Colourful and accurate frog life cycle book for young ones
This DK non fiction board book is produced with the help of the Royal Horticultural Society so we can be sure that is is factually correct. As usual with DK books, it is strongly made and colourful, with the added delight of lift up flaps on some of the pages. As well as taking you through the life cycle of a frog there are some good sections on “frog facts” and habitats around the world. The target age range is given online as 3 to 5, I would say it can extend older than that as there is plenty of new vocabulary here. A very useful book to have in early years and KS1 classrooms as well as for learning at home. The one addition I thought could have enhanced the book is the circular diagram of the life cycle on the final page – it would be lovely to have this a wheel you could turn and reveal the pictures peek-a-boo style. But overall, a good book on a fascinating topic .

  6. Stusie

A nicely presented book on a fascinating subject.
This is a really nicely presented board-book from the RHS and DK about the life-cycle of the frog. How Does a Frog Grow? has a decent sized facing of approx. 8 1/2 inches square. There are 16 thick board pages, many of which have large lift up flaps that reveal even more hidden facts and pictures. The artwork is bright and vibrant with a lively mixture of illustration and photography. The main life-cycle of the frog is followed in the larger, bolder text on each page, but there are lots of interesting factlets written in a smaller lighter text. My son has been learning about mini-beasts and life-cycles in Year R at school, and this is a perfect book to support that learning at home. Plus, it’s just a really nicely presented book on a subject that’s universally fascinating to kids and grown ups alike.

  7. TheLibrarian

    Beautiful and educational board book
This is a chunky board book about the life cycle of frogs. This is a beautifully illustrated book that clearly explains everything in language a child will understand. Some of the pages have flaps that can be lifted up which adds interest. They aren’t very easy to lift up when the book is new as you really need to slide your nail under the flap to get them to unstick the first time. I suggest you go through and unstick them before giving this book to a child or they will end up getting damaged.

  8. Emile Zola reader

Educational, entertaining, and a robust build.
This is a good quality board book; the pages are robust, and the layouts are clear, colourful and uncluttered. There are seven lift-up-and-reveal flaps, and these are made of thick card, and won’t rip easily. There are photographs and humorous illustrations on every page, and the text is short and pitched perfectly for young children i.e. “the mummy frog and the daddy frog” etc. This is a very good educational and fun book detailing the lifecycle of frogs and their different habitats i.e. deserts, jungles, cold snowy climates – in fact, everywhere – and I highly recommend it.

  9. John D’Arc

    Frog Book
High quality childrens book from RHS and DK.Teaches young children about the lifecycle of a frog, from spawn to tadpole to adult.Suitable for ages 3 to 5 (roughly).Fun design/presentation and high quality thick pages (16 in total).

  10. J.Cats

    sweet little book
A great toddler book with really bright bold coloured pages printed on good thick cardboard that is easy for a baby to turn. The book has great pictures and the writing is nice and simple/easy to read. The story follows the development from tadpole to frog in a fun and interesting story with lift and flap bits and beautiful bold colours.
