About the Author

Marion Dane Baueris the author of many books for young readers, including the Newbery Honor book On My Honor and the Coretta Scott King Book Illustrator Award winner The Stuff of Stars. She lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, and can be reached at MarionDaneBauer.com.

John Wallace’s formal training was not in illustration, but rather theology, which he received at Cambridge University. However, he always loved drawing, and one of his early jobs was as a newspaper cartoonist. In his children’s books illustrations, John is particularly inspired by what he calls “the gooniness” of young school children. John and his family divide their time between Brighton, England, and Long Island, New York.

    Great book!
I was looking for a rainbow book for my preschool class. This book is perfect! It’s fun, nice illistrations and explains the how of rainbows without being too much for preschoolers. The children enjoyed it. My coworkers borrowed it for their classes and agreed, it’s perfect for 4 year olds.

Good book for a 2 year old who is fascinated with rainbows.
My grandson had become fascinated with rainbows in a Rainbow Brite book. We read it too many time so I looked for another book that had rainbows in it. This book is advanced and my grandson doesn’t understand everything but he loves talking about the rainbows and rain.
